since i have no one else to talk to about what i am going through, i just thought i would let this group know that i have .
crisis of conscience coming to my front door today.
i already know what i will say if my wife says something.
i bought CoC a few years back. i found it very hard going and frankly boring to start with--too much cut / paste chunks out of watchtower trash---it put me off and i nearly binned it.
but a chapter title about half way through caught my eye--so i started there and read it non stop to the end.
in my ten years as a witness i never read the whole bible end to end, what with four magazines a month, the book study, meetings and talk preparations, there just wasn’t the time.
i knew all the important references to ‘prove’ the various jw doctrines, and the cherry picked chapters that help foster the idea that it’s a good book, but that’s not reading it.
well after nearly forty years out, i decided i would do it.
i was forced to have to read it out loud in a family bible study one evening a week with my girlfriend and her fanatical parents. i should have run a mile--instead i married that girlfriend.
the things us dub lads had to do to get our leg over.

but back in the day--it was OK to listen to the Shadows because 2 of the group were dubs --at one stage.
so i moved out of my small town into the big city and staying with an older sister i’ve been having some fun in the big city wink wink.
but i have a good standing with the congregation in the city they are nice but don’t really pay a lot of attention to me.
i have been dating a “worldly guy” who is amazing love him but the older sister said he wasn’t allowed in the house.

in stephen letts annual meeting talk he spent about 15min.
talking about how the garden of eden compares to our spiritual paradise that we are currently inhabiting.
he didn't mention the earthly paradise until the very last sentence.
if dubs keep going round that corner looking forward to armageddon--eventually they will end up stuck in their own arse hole. maybe thats what the GB mean by paradise.
when i first seen this website i actually thought it was a jw website hence the home page and not an ex jw website and i posted a topic thinking people were real witnesses then i quickly discovered it was not and all these people were commenting and embarrassing me and i couldn’t even delete the thread.
then i asked the admin to delete it and i said it was very misleading saying it’s a jw page and he’s like are you serious i deleted your topic and now you are attacking me and it clearly says ex jw page.
he was very rude and btw no where does it say ex jw and you should be able to delete your own threads you start.
None of those things happened. I haven't corresponded with you once. You're an idiot. Fuck off.

so one of the elders at the meeting tonight addressed to parents in his talk, “if your child wants to flip burgers for the rest of their life, because that’s is the only job that will allow them to have a schedule for full time service, you would want to support them the best you can.” he has also said told parents that if their children already have plans to go to college, even in the near future, they should try to do everything to stop them.
there’s so much ranting i could do about that alone, but to make matters worse, this is a considerably well off man.
he has his own buisness, a nice house with an additional room he added on last year, and him and his wife just took a lavish european trip.
@Addison--please dont think i was prying..i do understand your position. i had to endure a few years of numb bum meeting attendance to try to preserve my marriage. all to no avail.

My mistake was to be honest, trusting, and friendly. I was DF with no tangible evidence bar my own admittance that I had had a meal with my wife's carer in broad daylight (deemed to be 'brazen conduct') to repay her care
